In the Works!

Hi everyone!!! Oh, things have been busy lately and I also got a little flu bug or something that has been keeping me run down the last few days, but I am feeling a better and I have been meaning to post, so here we go! Things have been going really well with the Vintage Lady Hatbox Kit, people are really liking it, I've gotten emails and comments and pre-orders which is wonderful! So thank you all very much! And I wanted to share some more news with you, I am working on some really cool, beautiful and exciting new stuff so stay tuned! And just as a little hint, the stuff I am working on to show you and will probably be doing tutorials on (and maybe a kit down the road) is going to be using lots of Prima!!! I heart Prima don't you? And there will also be more of one of my other fave companies, Graphic 45, so stay tuned for that as well!

For now here are some pics of a layout that I did recently that I think you will like! I will be doing a youtube tutorial and/or ustream tutorial on how to make this soon so watch for that! And if I get enough feedback/comments on this I will also do a kit like this! So let me know if you like it!  Its called "Dream: The Yellow Rose Of Texas" and it is a picture of my Grandma Cecilia who was called The Yellow Rose of Texas and who is an inspiration to me and to my creativity!  She taught me how to sew quilts and dresses and things!  And though she has passed away, I still have dreams about her showing me how to make my first quilt block or how to do a hem!  I miss her very much and she is definetley where I get a lot of my creative and artistic drive!  She taught me how special handmade is because it has love in it!

New Things!

Hi all!  Sorry it's been a while, it's been really busy and also really rough lately.  I don't think I mentioned this before, but I have a serious condition called CRPS, it's a nerve disorder.  Basically it is nerve damage and nerve pain in my legs and it's excruciating.  I have to be on pain meds all the time and I am usually stuck inside, in bed or in a wheelchair because the pain makes it so hard for me to stand, walk, sit normally or go anywhere most of the time.  Anyway, I get through it all with my husband who is incredibly loving and supportive, he is my hero!!! And I also get through it with Scrapbooking which is like my therapy!  And I am currently in the middle of transitioning from scrapbooking as a hobby to scrapbooking as a career since it is something that I am talented at, love to do, and can do from home!  I am very excited and I will be sending out my portfolio to different scrapbooking companies as well as starting my own business selling scrapbooking kits online and doing youtube and ustream tutorials as well as in-class tutorials at scrapbook stores!!!  I am so looking forward to all this and I will keep you all posted on how this adventure goes!  Stay tuned because very soon I will be posting my first youtube video and selling my first scrapbook kit!  And it is beautiful, so make sure to watch and to get the kit when you see it because I'm sure it will go fast!

Here are some clues as to what's going to be in the kit!

Life Mini Book Using GCD Studios Paper!

I've been working on this mini book called "Life" about my new life as Andrea Bethke, a wife to Ryan Bethke, and no longer Andrea Elizarrez, single gal.  I used mainly GCD Studios paper and diecuts mostly from the Debonair collection but also from their Canta and Chic Bebe lines.  I love GCD Studios, their papers are so luxurious just like they say --- really thick, high quality paper that feels almost like fabric or something!  And it's so affordable!  In fact, my husband Ryan was shopping with me for this mini book a while back and it was the first time he touched the GCD paper when he was putting it in my cart and he said "WOW, this is awesome...thats the price?", he was just shocked at how inexpensive it was considering how nice the paper was.  He says he loves the texture!  I love that my hubby is getting into my scrapbooking and all the products and companies that I love!  And I love GCD! I have a few of their paper stacks, like "Cloissone" which is really cute for Valentines Day and "Canta", which I am going to use for a rainyday-sunnyday minibook I'm making because its all blue and yellow and green.  Check out their stuff if you havn't already, I especially love and really want bad their new Homespun Chic and Artsy Urban collections from Melody Ross.  The Homespun Chic is uber cute with vintage/retro gals from the fifties and the Artsy Urban has beautiful butterflie! They are both coming out soon! (and I will be buying them soon :-) !!)  Oh, back to my book, I hope you like it, I had so much fun making it and will try to make a video tutuorial soon on some of the cool layouts and techniques I used for it!

Favorite New Scrapbook Website: Two Peas In A Bucket !!!

Hi all, sorry its been a while, been really busy!  Anyway, wanted to talk to you about my new fave scrapbooking website, !  I love thier store and online community, both are awesome, but I think the coolest thing about the website is all the wonderful youtube videos that they do each week to let thier customers and community members know all the "latest and greatest at twopeas" as they say as well as thier favorites and the hottest trends and products in scrapbooking!  I especially love the Warehouse Walks with Mellypea!  And other videos like Kristin's picks are always fun too!  So if you havn't checked it out yet, go TODAY and check out this awesome resource for us addicted scrapbookers!

(p.s. I included a pic of a pea necklace because everyone at twopeasinabucket call themselves "peas" and I thought they should all have a necklace like this as a kind of uniform! :-) )
